Last year, musical pioneer Cheb i Sabbah was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer and like many Americans, Chebiji - as he\\\'s affectionately known - doesn\\\'t have health insurance. So upon learning of his condition, a few close friends, artists and industry professionals banded together to assist him with his fight. The resulting effort is a 22 track compilation entitled Samaya: A Benefit for Cheb i Sabbah.

On this episode of Radio M, Chebiji joins Tony in the WBEZ studios for a conversation about his career, the new record and his approach to remixing and producing. Chebiji also talks about spinning soul records in Paris in the 60\\\'s, hooking up with Peter Murphy to remix a song for Bauhaus, and his relationship with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
