Phill and Phil Episode Two
Phill and Phil clamber aboard the Playdio pony one more time with tunes from Tenacious D, Daddy Freddy, Eli ‘Paperboy’ Reed and the ever cheery Black Keys. Still nothing from 36 Crazyfists, sadly.

About Phill and Phil
Coming out of the wilderness like a cloud of locusts or some other pestilence God used to keep his followers in line, Phill and Phil are back on air.

Phill Jupitus (Never Mind The Buzzcocks, QI, most of Radio 4) and Phil Wilding (Cross Country Murder Song, Mojo, Classic Rock, the discoloured GMTV sofa) launched the BBC 6 Music network to a largely indifferent nation and left five years later under a cloud, but not the cloud of locusts mentioned above. They were the first people to air artists like Lily Allen, Rufus Wainwright, the Ordinary Boys and Rachel Unthank (and Maroon 5 and we’re sorry about that) on national radio. Brian Wilson told Phill to drop some weight, Gene Simmons told us how his mother needed a bigger house and we never did once play a Razorlight song in its entirety.

Anyway, we used to be able to play what we liked, make jokes, revel in the tunes and then one day we couldn’t. But now we can again, idiotic banter, playlists drawn up at a whim and the only conceit being that they’re made up of excellent music. Like radio was once, remember? Come on, let’s revel...
